Schools: Queensbury girls win inaugural Foothills Council golf championship

Queensbury completed first forward of Broadalbin-Perth, Johnstown and Gloversville, respectively, on the inaugural Foothills Council Women’ Golf Event Friday at Fox Run Golf Membership.

Queensbury prevailed with a 90, adopted by Broadalbin-Perth with a 107, Johnstown with a 113 and Gloversville with a 139.

Geena Burkich of Queensbury earned medalist honors with a 42, and teammate Adriana Della Bella carded a 48. Mairead Marsden of Broadalbin-Perth took third within the particular person scoring with a 50.

The Niskayuna ladies’ tennis staff bought wins from its No. 1 singles participant Eujeong Choi and its No. 1 doubles staff of Morgan Guzman and Hally Lightbody in a 7-2 Suburban Council overcome Schenectady/Mohonasen.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Guilderland swept Suburban Council opponents Columbia and Albany by 9-0 counts,  Averill Park beat Colonie 8-1, Scotia-Glenville defeated Hudson Falls 7-1 within the Foothills Council, and Albany Academy downed Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 6-1 within the Colonial Council.
