MILTON, Ont. – Triathlete Lionel Sanders has damaged the Canadian biking hour report.
The 32-year-old Ironman triathlete from Windsor, Ont., rode 51.304 kilometres in 60 minutes on the Mattamy Nationwide Biking Centre velodrome in Milton, Ont.
Sanders beat the earlier report of 48.587 kilometres set by observe bike owner Ed Veal in the identical velodrome in 2017.
The world report of 55.089 has been held by Belgian professional bike owner Victor Campenaerts since 2019.
Sanders received the ITU world long-distance triathlon championship and positioned second on this planet Ironman championship in 2017.
He lined 205 laps Friday on his solo trip.
