Mom Nature grabbed a win Monday evening at Shifley Park as steady lightning compelled Owensboro directors to delay the beginning of the third Area Ladies’ Soccer Match.
With Owensboro Catholic advancing by forfeit as a result of McLean County needed to bow out resulting from COVID-19 protocol, Daviess County and Grayson County have been set to take the sphere at 6 p.m. however the climate had different plans.
Each lightning strike delayed the beginning by half-hour till OHS Athletic Director Todd Harper needed to make the troublesome choice.
Daviess/Grayson will now hit the pitch at 6 p.m. tonight with the semifinals being pushed to Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and eight p.m.
The ultimate remains to be scheduled for five:30 p.m. Thursday.
